On 31st January, 2020, we were privileged to have the following individuals at our Careers Day event to speak to the children about their occupations: two Beacon parents – Ing. Ahlidza and Ing. Mensah-Bonsu; an air traffic controller – Ms Alissar Kalmoni; the youngest Ghanaian female pilot – Ms Audrey Esi Swatson; as well as two young entrepreneurs – an Ashesi University graduate who is now a fashion designer (Mr Enoch Aworo) and a Beacon School graduate who is now a graphic designer (Mr Andrews Asiedu); The speakers were all very inspirational and provided apt responses to all the children’s questions. The children came to school dressed in a colourful array of occupational clothing. Preschoolers also performed job-related skits for the rest of the school after the talks. It was a memorable event!
