Beacon School currently runs classes from Play Group to Year 11. Plans are in place to offer classes to Year 13 (A’ level students only) once appropriate facilities have been developed.
Beacon School is a Cambridge International School, (www.cambridgeinternational.org) offering the Cambridge Checkpoint exam at the end of Year 9 and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) at the end of Year 11. We also offer the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) at the end of Junior High 3. At the end of Year 6 students are required to choose between the Cambridge International programme or the local BECE curriculum. Boarding facilities are available for Secondary students only.
Maximum class size is 25 pupils. In lower classes, the class teacher is helped by a full-time teaching assistant. Class placement is dependent on a child’s age, not on academic ability. Within the class, differing levels of assessment provide differentiated learning.
